In this course students will create vessels and sculptural volumes using Rhinoceros and the ceramic 3d printer. Class lectures and discussions will focus on the history of vessel production and use, with consideration for the future of vessel production and ceramic object making as a whole. Lectures, demonstrations and discussions will be conducted remotely. Digital files will be generated remotely. Rendered 3D files will be submitted, reviewed for print, generated with the ceramic printer (potterbot) and fired in the kilns at SAIC. Students will pick up fired artwork at scheduled intervals.
