Comics and Graphic Novels

Culminating in a final project of your own choosing, this class will prepare you with the skills needed to create compelling visual stories. You will further develop your drawing abilities by experimenting with line and technique, and will gain the tools necessary to create and think critically about time-based sequential work. For inspiration, we'll delve into comic theory and autobiographical approaches of contemporaries working in the field.

"This class was excellent! A wonderful blend of both technical skills and creativity and exploration. Goals were achieved by simultaneously teaching students about art in terms of history and through example, as well allowing students to explore and be flexible with assignments. Overall, I come away feeling like a stronger artist, both technically and creatively." – Violette Terjanian, Comics and Graphic Novels student
