Students with basic graphic design skills and prior Adobe Illustrator experience explore uses of the application to create sophisticated designs and illustrations. Beginning with a review of important functions and tools, demonstrations and in-class projects present more advanced topics including transparency, feathering, masking, compound paths, gradients, layering techniques, and the specifics of the pen tool. Attention will be given to exporting files to other applications and platforms including, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and the web.
Note: This Adult Continuing Education online course is project-based with no set meeting times and 24-7 access to course materials. Weekly activities will include readings, video demonstrations, tutorials, online discussions, assignments, and critiques. Access to a computer with Adobe Illustrator installed is required.
