In this course, emerging artists learn the practical and creative processes required to put together an artist exhibition. Class sessions will include group critiques as students hone their ability to communicate about their art practice, discussions on historical and contemporary approaches to exhibition design, workshops on writing artist statements and planning exhibition promotion, and an introduction to installation and deinstallation techniques. The course will culminate in a small pop-up exhibition of student work.
"Fran moderated the discussions well and always encouraged new thoughts and had something positive to point out from everyone's contribution. I think everyone in the class was very respectful to each other and had a lot of very insightful thoughts – I learned a lot from my classmates too." – Student of Frances Lightbound
