This course introduces students to printmaking as a versatile tool for the interdisciplinary artist. Students will explore processes in monotype, relief, image transfer, and basic screen printing, developing techniques for DIY printmaking that do not require access to a dedicated print studio. Experimental approaches to materials and installation will be supported and encouraged, with projects framed by discussions of the creative and critical potential of print within the broader field of contemporary art and visual culture. The class is suitable for artists of all disciplines, both with and without prior printmaking experience.
