These one-week, morning-only camps provide a playful, stimulating environment for our youngest campers to grow as creative, unique individuals. Using a variety of traditional and contemporary approaches, students experiment with drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed-media, and design. Students are also provided with time for play through music and movement. Through the process of looking and creating, four to six-year-olds gain a better understanding of the process of making in addition to how and why art is made. These key principles help students to gain confidence in their own work and build on their individual strengths for future classes. The Art and Stories camp will use childrenís books, myths, and folktales from across the world to inspire visual and performance-based art activities and projects. Campers will also become the storytellers as they work collaboratively to create their own narratives and storybooks.
*This online course requires an adult to be present while camp is in session in order to support with materials and, as needed, help to facilitate the child's participation in camp activities.
