These one-week, morning-only camps provide a playful, stimulating environment for our youngest campers to grow as creative, unique individuals. Using a variety of traditional and contemporary approaches, students experiment with drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed-media, and design. Students are also provided with time for play through music and movement. Through the process of looking and creating, four to six-year-olds gain a better understanding of the process of making in addition to how and why art is made. These key principles help students to gain confidence in their own work and build on their individual strengths for future classes. The Virtual Museum Explorers camp will feature exciting virtual tours of the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as other museums around the world. Campers will take advantage of new online museum resources to inspire an array of vibrant art-history based creative projects.
*This online course requires an adult to be present while camp is in session in order to support with materials and, as needed, help to facilitate the child's participation in camp activities.
