This course is designed for students specifically interested in contemporary portrait photography. Students investigate various formal and conceptual approaches to help refine and advance their skills with the goal of creating a small body of work. Coursework includes presentations and discussions of the work of contemporary photographers, as well as group critiques. Students must supply their own digital SLR (single-lens reflex) camera with manual functions; no point and shoot cameras. Prerequisite(s): Introduction to Digital Photography or equivalent experience.
