Public Art in Chicago: An Accelerated History of Murals 1970s to Present Day

Public Art in Chicago will focus on a selection of public art projects created in Chicago by the Chicago Mural Group in the 1970s to the most recent murals installed on the BLine in the West Loop neighborhood. This course will combine lecture-style presentations accompanied by mural tours. Course participants will receive an accelerated historical narrative of public art created during this time period as well as an opportunity to learn about emerging public artists.
