Henry Matisse said 'Drawing is putting a line around an idea.' This beginner-level life drawing workshop explores methods of capturing the essentials of rhythms and proportions of the human form in line and tone. The ability to convey a sense of motion, weight-bearing, balance and rest are explored through techniques and concepts designed to emphasize hand-eye coordination. Beginning with quick sketches that progress to more sustained drawings, students apply essential anatomy to enliven the quality of their figure work. Instructor demonstrations and lectures supplement the workshop.
