This course will focus on a selection of public art projects created in Chicago by the Chicago Mural Group in the 1970s to the most recent murals installed on the BLine in the West Loop neighborhood. The two-day workshop will combine lecture-style presentations with virtual tours of Hyde Park and the West Loop respectively. Course participants will receive an accelerated historical narrative of public art created during this time period as well as an opportunity to learn about emerging public artists.
Note: This online weekend workshop will combine virtual tours daily at 10:00 a.m. with supplemental readings. This workshop is offered at a reduced tuition rate-$193.05, $173.91 for AIC members, and $144.87 for SAIC alumni.
