Painting from Photographs

Transform your favorite photographs into expressive paintings using contrast, gesture, and color harmony. Designed for beginning painters with little or no experience working from life, this studio course introduces techniques such as grid and projection methods to translate photographic images onto painting surfaces. Students will learn to interpret their subjects by focusing on shape masses rather than outlines, and by developing form rather than fine detail.
