This focused, skill-building intensive emphasizes hands-on studio work and the completion of finished drawings in a shorter 5-week format. Students explore drawing as a form of personal expression while developing essential techniques, including line, proportion, value, composition, and perspective. Working with fewer materials, students complete a limited number of focused projects that build technical skills and confidence. Through studio practice and critique, students strengthen their ability to translate observation and ideas into resolved drawings. This course is an excellent introduction to the full 10-week Drawing Studio, where students can further expand their skills and explore a wider range of materials and approaches.
