This course explores graphic narrative storytelling, a recent cultural phenomenon that takes several forms and has roots in many cultures, including graphic novels, manga, comics, film sequences, as well as Renaissance fresco and tapestry cycles. Weekly projects include drawing exercises, ideation through sketching, and research or writing as you investigate new ways to express a more personal vision realized as a short pictorial narrative.
