These camps provide a playful, stimulating environment for our youngest campers to grow as creative, unique individuals. Using a variety of traditional and contemporary approaches, students experiment with drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, design, and sometimes digital art-making. Students are also provided with time for play through music and dance. 'Circle time' presents youth-friendly stories that connect to the day's projects and allows students to share their own ideas with their peers. Through the process of looking and creating, four to five-year-olds gain a better understanding of the process of making in addition to how and why art is made. These key principles help students to gain confidence in their own work and build on their individual strengths for future classes. In addition to visual art projects, students explore the wonders of the Art Institute of Chicago each day.
Don't forget! We offer optional aftercare for campers for an additional hour at the end of the day full of art making, games and outdoor time, as well as some much needed end-of-day relaxation. To purchase aftercare for this course, add this aftercare course to your cart before checking out!
