While contemporary art reflects the current moment, its concepts and processes often merit further examination. This course will consider the differences between modern and contemporary art and discuss the impact of works made in the recent past, as well as those being made today. SAIC Continuing Studies: Art History from the Ground Up can provide a foundation for some of the issues raised in this class, but is not required.
