How do you focus your interests and refine your skills in order to create a body of work? How do the materials and methods you use relate to the ideas in your work? How do you make your work more personally meaningful? This multi-level course is intended for students with previous painting experience who are ready to address these questions through various in-class exercises and individual painting problems. With instructor guidance, the organization of ideas and development of self-directed work is encouraged. Critiques and discussions deepen understanding, support personal direction, and aid in the execution of ideas. Students work with their choice of painting media. Prerequisite(s): Introduction to Oil Painting or equivalent experience.
