Video on demand (VOD) allows users to watch what they want when they want. For the producer, it provides opportunities to create short videos in a readily available and easily shareable digital format for a variety of purposes. Videos can be posted on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) to be distributed to friends and associates. VOD requires less technical knowledge, but a strong sense of purpose, emphasizing the message to be communicated. This course will cover pre-production-organizing thoughts and ideas; production-using a camera and/or graphics to create raw content; and post-production-editing the final video. While there are no specific prerequisites for this course, students should be familiar using a computer for research and a basic digital camera or smartphone for production. Video editing using Adobe After Effects and/or Premiere will take place in the classroom with instructor supervision and support. Each student will complete the course with one VOD of 30 seconds to two minutes in length. Note: This short format course is offered at a reduced tuition rate-$292.50, $263.50 for AIC members, and $219.50 for SAIC alumni.
